We have things that can be a staple in just about anybody’s wardrobe— from outdoor laborers to business executives. Our Roll-Up Long Sleeve Blouse makes an excellent addition to any woman’s wardrobe. What’s so great about this blouse? Well, it’s got a beautifully feminine open neckline, and it’s made of soft combed cotton oxford. Our favorite part about the garment, though, is the fact that it can be worn either long or short sleeved. The sleeves have button closures that allow you to roll them up and still look chic and put-together. It’s perfect for the office— especially as the temperature fluctuates. If it’s a warm day outside, you can be sure that the air conditioning will be on in the building. Keep the sleeves rolled down when you’re indoors so you can stay warm. When you leave for the day, roll them up! It’s such a versatile garment.

Stay Cool: Moisture Management Polos

June 28th 2010

moisture management polo sharperuniforms.com
We’ve been talking a lot about summertime lately. And with good reason! Around here, it’s going to be about 90 degrees this weekend. It’s got us all thinking about how to keep ourselves cool. Lucky for a lot of us, we can just jump in the pool to get some relief on hot days. But what about your staff? They can’t just stop doing their job. The next best thing is a Moisture Management Polo.

We’ve talked about these before, but they’re totally worth mentioning again. (Because, really, were you thinking about hot weather back in February?) Like we said then, these moisture management polos are on the cutting edge of clothing technology. And now that the weather is hot enough, you’ll really appreciate the science behind these things. They’re treated with the AP-360+ Fabric Shield. That means they actually block bacteria from causing odors in the garment. Your staff will probably be working up a sweat in the months to come, but these shirts will keep any of your customers from noticing that.

The technology behind the moisture management polos still blows us away. They literally act as a natural deodorant. (That doesn’t mean your staff can stop wearing their regular deodorant, though!) The fabric shield is actually made from crustacean shells, so it’s a nice green resource that isn’t going to hurt the environment.

A cool staff is a happy staff— and the moisture management polo shirts literally keep moisture off the skin. And that keeps everyone way cool.

Shorts and Capri Pants: It’s Good to be a Woman!

June 10th 2010

microfiber shorts
As summer is heading into full swing, the weather is really starting to heat up. It’s important to make sure that your staff still looks polished and professional as the mercury rises. Fortunately for the ladies, they have some options out there that allow them to show a little bit of leg in the summertime. (Don’t worry, we’re not telling you to wear Daisy Dukes!)

Flat Front Short

These comfortable microfiber shorts are ideal for women to wear to work in the summer months. They’ve got all the features of our classic pants, but they show a perfectly modest amount of leg. You don’t have to worry about your female staff complaining about being too warm. These breezy shorts are equipped with Moisture Wicking technology that draws moisture away from the skin. Everyone will be cool, dry, and comfortable in these stylish shorts.

Capri Pants
If your business requires your female staff to look a little bit more formal, then you’re in luck. Any of our pants can be tailored into a Capri pant! Just choose the pants that you’d like and select the “Capri Style” inseam. A Capri length is very flattering on women. They’re comfortable, and they add just enough summer flair to any uniform.

Get the Word Out with Embroidery and Heat Seal

June 3rd 2010

heat seal
Everyone here at SharperUniforms.com wants your staff to look their best. One of the best ways to keep everyone looking like part of a team is with a logo on their uniform shirt. Having a logo also helps customers find your staff. If they make a mental association with a logo, they’ll have an easier time identifying the potential of your company and its services. We have two great options for getting your name out there!

Embroidery
We have a full range of embroidery and logo creation services, so you’ll certainly be able to find the option that works for you. You can choose up to three lines of embroidery text in several different fonts. If you have a logo design, SharperUniforms.com can create the embroidery for you! All you have to do is send us an electronic copy of the logo. You can get more details about this convenient service on our Embroidery Details page.

Heat Seal
Another great option for putting logos on uniforms is the use of heat seal technology. These heat applied transfers are made of non-fading, non-peeling, non-cracking material. When you use the heat seal logo application, you have a bit more freedom as to where the logo can be applied. You can put a logo on shirt collars, cuffs, pockets, and plackets. You can be a little freer with this kind of logo application, also. Your color selection is larger, and you can use some finer details. Learn more on our Heat Seal page.

A Ladies’ 3/4 Sleeve Fitted Blouse Can Go the Distance

May 26th 2010

ladiesshirt2
If you’ve ever spent an extended period of time in a long sleeve blouse, you know how annoying those cuffs can be. Especially if you’re doing any kind of work with your hands. That’s why we have these Ultimate Ladies’ ¾ Sleeve Blouses. Here at SharperUniforms.com we understand what women are looking for in a work blouse, and we do our best to supply it! Ladies are rolling up their sleeves at work anyway, so these ¾ sleeve blouses are absolutely ideal. The shirt stays tidy, and your hands stay free!

When you’re putting in a long day at work, you want to make sure you stay looking your best from the moment you punch in to the moment you punch out. With some boxy men’s-style work shirts, you can end up looking wrinkled and sloppy before lunchtime. But when you’re wearing one of these blouses, you can rest assured that your shirt will stay neat all day. What makes it so special? This blouse has back darts that give you a sleek, polished look. The fabric stretches, so it moves with you as you go about your day. We think the best part, though, is the fact that it’s guaranteed to stay tucked in. You don’t have to worry about it anymore!

Think What Your Uniforms Say to People

May 14th 2010

Uniforms have been around for centuries.  They tell people what the wearer does for a living.  There’s the old question, “Why does the fireman wear red suspenders?”  Well, firemen were traditionally uniformed in red suspenders as a way to indicate what they did.  Red represented fire, and they wore the red suspenders when they put it out.  Similarly, sporting referees wear those striped shirts for a reason.  Think about it— how many boxing referees got punched in the face before they realized that they should probably wear something that made them stand out from the crowd?

That’s the kind of thing you need to think about when you’re selecting uniforms for you staff.  What they’re wearing is going to tell your customers what they do.  People have intrinsic mental associations with colors.

Here are a few colors to think about:

  • Red:  People associate this color with strength and health.
  • Orange:  This color tells people that the person wearing it is adaptable and kind.
  • Yellow:  Staff dressed in yellow will sent the message that they are knowledgeable and confident.
  • Green:  This color signifies luck and ambition.
  • Blue:  People associate blue with tranquility, devotion, and wisdom.
  • Purple:  Purple represents power, imagination, and creativity, but it also gives off a negative vibe.
  • Gray:  Staff dressed in gray will seem balanced and neutral.
  • Brown:  This color makes people think of the familiar and comfortable.

Don’t Forget a Lightweight Jacket!

May 13th 2010

Summer weather and warmer temperatures are here and it’s time that you adjust the uniforms for your staff to accommodate the change of season. With summer ushering in new weather, it’s important that your staff feels cool and comfortable.

Luckily, at ShaperUniforms.com, we carry new lightweight jackets that are perfect for being worn by a valet, doorman, or even the maintenance crew. These jackets, along with other finds from our outerwear selection are perfect for keeping you warm and safe from the elements when a cool summer rainstorm breezes through or just for when you need some extra protection from the wind. Plus, everyone knows that there are chilly days as spring transitions into summer and summer transitions into autumn.

Even though summer and warm temperatures are here, coastal cities with businesses on the shoreline or even country clubs that encounter cool mornings suggest that staff wear light jackets throughout the summer to protect from the windy and sometimes cooler temperatures.

Getting More Performance From Your Polo

April 29th 2010

polo

At SharperUniforms.com, we’re always looking for the newest innovations in clothing and uniform technology. Today, a shirt is never just a shirt. You can shirts that are treated to prevent wrinkles, wick away moisture, and more. These kind of qualities are especially important when it comes to your staff’s uniforms.

We’re going to be adding some new polo shirts to our line up soon that will take fabric technology to the next level! First, we have a new dry-mesh high performance polo that wicks moisture away to keep you dry like nothing we’ve ever seen. It’s also fade, wrinkle and shrink resistant.

Next, we have a new plaited high performance polo. What exactly does “plaited” mean? This is a dual bond performance of cotton and polyester. First, the cotton creates a soft and comfortable feel against the body. Second, the polyester outer layer wicks moisture away from the cotton and the wearer. The polyester outer layer also retains it’s color better which assures a more uniform shade for all of your employees, even after multiple washings. It also has a slight sheen and a richer appearance than the cotton.

If you want to learn more about these great new polos, drop us a line!

Choosing Hotel & Resort Staff Uniforms

March 8th 2010

585960_hotel_sacher

When it’s time to dress the staff at a hotel or resort, there is a lot of ground to cover. At any given hotel you have as many as five different groups of staff to consider, along with the different needs of the men and women on your staff. This month, we’re going to take a closer look at all the staff uniforms you’d need to run a successful resort and the issues you’ll need to tackle for each group. These include:

  • Front Desk Staff - they make the first impression on your guests and need to look their best at all times.
  • Banquet Staffers – usually the best dressed of all your staff, they work formal dinners and black tie events.
  • House Keeping Staff – comfort and a neat appearance are key for these crucial staff members. They need to be able to do their job with ease and still look professional.
  • Maintenance – the crew that keeps everything running smoothly needs heavy duty uniforms that can withstand extra dirt and wear from a hard days’ work!
  • Spa or Salon Staff – more and more hotels and resorts are adding a spa to their property so it’s important to dress your spa staff in professional, clean looking attire.

Next week we’ll dive in to the in’s and outs of your front desk staff’s attire!
